NGOs' Association to go ahead with teritorry wide agitational programmes in support of One Day Strike on 2nd September



The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A&N Islands welcomes the decision of the Central Government extending benefits of Retirement Gratuity and Death Gratuity to the Central Government Employees covered by National Pension Scheme (NPS) i.e all those employees joined Central Govt. Services on or after 01.01.2004. Until now they were not eligible for this and many other benefits which are being enjoyed by the employees appointed prior to 1.1.2004. Lakhs of employees will be benefitted by this decision of the Central Government conveyed by Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, Mininstry of Personnel and Pensions’ Office Memoradum dated 26.08.2016.

The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association also welcomes the decision of Finance Ministry, Govt. of India to enhance Ad-hoc Bonus calculation ceiling to Rs.7,000/- from the existing rate of Rs.3,500/- for the year 2014-15. All the eligible employees would be getting arrears amount due for them.

However, the ‘Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers’ and other Central Trade Unions have decided to  move ahead with the proposed All India Strike on 02.09.2016 since the main demands of enhancement of minimum wages and fitment formula of 2.57 and retension of all allowances at existing rates etc. have not yet been settled.

   Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association is organising territory-wide agitational programmes in support of the All India Strike on 02.09.2016. At Port Blair, there will be Mass Dharna & Public Meeting organised alongwith CITU at Tiranga Park. A procession will  also be taken out from Tiranga Park at 4.00 p.m on 2nd September, 2016.
